Chisago Edge Volleyball

Chisago Edge Volleyball (CEV) anticipates another dynamic and dig filled season with our volleyball enthusiastic players and parents! This page will bring everyone up to date on the details of what to expect this season. As always, we welcome your feedback and questions, so please don't hesitate to contact us.

Tryouts this season will be held on November 18, 2024 at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom, MN (also where we practice) from 6-8:30 pm. We have 2 courts to pour our sweat and hopefully no tears on. We will be evaluating players on all aspects of skills including serving, bumping, digging, setting, hitting and basic knowledge of the sport. We cap each team at 12 players to ensure maximum playing time and more customized coaching instruction for each player. That being said, if we have too few players for a particular age group try out (less than 6), we will be unable to have a team for that age group.

Prior to tryouts, we will host a Community Night for perspective and veteran players and parents. This is your chance to meet the coaches, Board and other CEV families, ask questions and get to know the organization. We hope to see you there!

How do I know what age group my child is trying out for? Good question!! The cut-off is July 1 of each year. For instance, if your child's birthday is June 26, 2009, they would be in the 16U category. Once your player has been added to the Chisago Edge roster, there will be a meeting in early December to welcome players and parents with specifics about the season.

Practices

Practices will be held twice a week, days and times TBD. The season runs from Dec 2024 through April 2025. There will be specific dates we do not practice due to facility availability or Holidays. The specific schedule will be posted on the website on the "Calendar" page. Check back regularly for updates.

All practices will be held at Lakes Free Church,  29620 Olinda Trail, Lindstrom, MN 55045 unless otherwise specified on the Calendar.

Fees

Tryout fee is a $50 non-refundable cost. For rostered players, this $50 will be applied to the total registration cost of $650.  Chisago Edge is dedicated to keeping costs down for our parents. We actively seek donations from the community and do fundraising activities (players must volunteer for one activity per season) to offset the costs of the season. Chisago Edge Volleyball is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a 100% volunteer board and officers. We welcome volunteers and are dedicated to partnering with our community to better ourselves, players and all persons we interact with.

The only other fee requirement is player registration with the North Country Region USA volleyball association. The cost is $60 per player. Each player will be responsible for membership registration prior to the first practice.  To register, go to: https://www.ncrusav.org/page/show/8015383-junior-membership Select "24-25 NCR Junior Player $60". You will then need to either create a SportsEngine account or login to your account and follow the directions.

Chisago Edge recognizes not all families are financially able to commit the funds to club volleyball. In order to allow all players a fair chance at play, CEV offers a scholarship program that can provide up to 100% of the fees depending on need.
